LAC has to be a highlight of a long teaching career; a career which has taken me to several countries in the world but the ultimate thrill is to work with and guide focussed students in this Christian environment.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching in one of the best schools in the country where Christian principles are the driving force in the lives and decisions made by both staff and students. I love guiding students in their career choices, running and organising career-related programmes and events, and helping students enter the world outside the school environment.
It has been such a thrill to take students on Mission Trips to places like the Solomon Islands and Cook Islands and see lives change, commitments made for Christ and directions focus outwards towards serving others.
Matt 25:40 says “And the King will answer and say to them, Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
My wife and I have a 2-acre beachside property along the Taranaki coast adjacent to a very famous surf break which I frequently access via my old ATV bike. I manage to paddle out into uncrowded waves as often as possible, until the swell drops. We have over 120 fruit trees and 13 vegetable garden plots and, of course, farm organically.
My wife runs an essential oil company which allows us to share God’s natural healing medicines in plant oils. We have three children living in Queensland and it’s a thrill to meet up with them over summer vacations on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
