Intermediate Teacher
I decided when I was 12 years old that I wanted to become a teacher. A large factor in that decision was the influence of my Christian teacher in the small Seventh-day Adventist school that I attended in New Plymouth.
I have now spent almost 40 years teaching, most of it at Intermediate level, in both State and Christian schools. You could call me a very experienced teacher.
Intermediate kids are the best! They can be challenging, changing, noisy, exuberant and loud, but they are never dull. Teaching them and learning with them I find fulfilling. I seek to help them lay good foundations for future learning. Most of all, I want to see them develop spiritually, to personally connect with the living God.
I also take a keen interest in my own family, in gardening, cooking and reading, especially in reading kids' lit.
