HOD of Music
Media Studies Teacher
I was born and raised in the United States. I graduated from Southwestern Adventist College in Keene, Texas with a joint Bachelor's degree in English and Music. I moved to Wellington 12 years ago and received my Honours degree in the history and literature of music at Victoria University of Wellington (now the NZ School of Music).
My husband, Neil, and I have two wonderful sons, Gus and Jesse. We moved to Palmerston North four years ago.
I am a passionate about my two subjects. I find incredible enjoyment in teaching students about the influence of music and media on our society and our lives. But the best thing about teaching here is the environment. While our campus is beautiful, the Christian working environment is even better. We don't hide our Christianity. It is the backbone of all we do here. And, best of all, we're making a positive impact on the next generation. The most satisfying part of the job is seeing young people develop academically, socially, and spiritually.
One of my favourite verses is part of Hebrews 13:5. God says "I will never leave you; I will never abandon you." |
