Boys' Dormitory Dean
Kia Orana! I hail from from Rarotonga, Cook Islands. I have a sprinkling of Samoan, Tongan, Tahitian, Chinese, English and Scottish; this is probably why I can relate to most young people in general! I have lived in both central and south Auckland when the gangs concept was in its infancy: Storm troopers, Black Power and others. Fortunately I was the clean cut type - never did like tattered leather!
I finished high school in 1971, then worked as a non-registered waterside worker, in freight forwarding, administration, MLM, taxi service, sales, coolstores, warehousing, wholesaling, transport, workwear, fashion and distribution companies in the capacity of storeman, supervisor and managerial. I enjoy travelling, reading, table tennis, cycling and food.
Married a through and through, too good to be true, Christian Samoan lady…. in December 2010 we celebrate 31 years of marriage. It is from this union that my walk with God has brought me into this beautiful environment of Longburn Adventist College, where my wife is serving her 21st year on the staff, and I my 8th year. We have had our fair share of life’s ups and downs, but with God they become secondary.
God has been my helper and friend since I received him in my life in April 1979. He has blessed us with twin daughters and two foster sons. Add to them a daughter-in-law and son-in-law, and four grandchildren. Life is a joy! As a growing family we had stickability! Because we had dedicated our children’s lives as well as our own to God, we are who we are today. My passion is to pass on that STICKABILITY to all the young people who pass through Longburn Adventist College Boarding; with God on your side, who can dare be against you! I want you to consider this verse……
“ I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and give you peace, not evil, plans to give you hope and a future.”
