Assistant Principal
Bible Teacher
Mathematics Teacher
Upon finishing high school in Auckland I went to Avondale College in Australia where I completed a BSc majoring in Mathematics and Physics, and a Diploma of Teaching. My first teaching appointment was to Longburn College as a science teacher in 1973. Since then I have taught in Auckland and Christchurch, but most of my teaching (29 years) has been here at LAC. Presently I am the Assistant Principal looking after the Academic and Assessment areas.
In terms of qualifications I have also completed from Massey University a Master of Business Studies (Hons) and a Diploma of Education. Presently I am teaching Statistics and Bible. One of the professional areas I enjoyed was being part of a Ministry of Education writing party which wrote the Achievement Standards for Religious Education.
I am married to Glynis (LAC’s principal’s PA) and have two children (Sarah and Gareth) and a cat (Cosby!). My hobbies include playing sport (predominantly indoor hockey), gardening, and helping grow a church called Mosaic. I have a real passion for Longburn Adventist College because of the many positively-changed students I have seen as a result of their time here.
