2011: Y7-10 Subject Options

1. Y7–8 Composite Classes

• Have homeroom based classes for – Topic (Social science/science), English, PE and Bible
• Have ability streamed classes for Mathematics (Numeracy project)
• Have taster course rotations where they experience a range of subjects within Technology, Languages and the Arts
  • Cultural Studies – Art/Maori/Music
  • Special Studies – Japanese/Graphics/Health
  • Technology – Food/Woodwork/IT

2. Y9 Classes

• Core subjects are streamed according to:
  • Ability – Mathematics, Social Studies
  • Gender – English, Physical Education
  • Unstreamed – Science, Bible,
• Have taster course rotations where they experience a range of subjects within Technology, Languages and the Arts
  • Arts – Music/Art/Maori
  • Technology – Food/Woodwork/Japanese

3. Y10 Classes

• Core subjects are streamed in different ways:
  • Ability: Mathematics, Social Studies
  • Gender: English, Physical Education
  • Unstreamed- Science, Bible,
• Have options where students choose one from each of the following subject areas:
  • Arts – Music or Art or Maori
  • Technology – Food or Woodwork or Japanese
  • Special Studies – Extension Chemistry or Extension PE or Extension Computing
