Sort It Expo 2018
On the 17th of May our Year 10 – 13 students took some time out to investigate what careers are available in a wide range of industries. Stallholders ranged from Driver training to Medicine to Game Developing to Pilots. Students participated in activities to do with their chosen field and were able to speak with representatives from local companies and training institutions. It was great to see many who were confident to ask questions and make useful contacts for their futures. One student has even obtained work experience! Well done LAC.
BCITO -Building Tour 2018
Jade Wright, Rebekah Mudford, Daniel McBride, Campbell Sowry and John Medland and I went on the annual BCITO Big Expedition on 30th May 2018. Donning our hard hats and high-viz vests, we boarded a bus at Bunnings (who later provided us with an amazing lunch) and visited local building sites. This included: Concrete Structures, who are building the footbridge over the Manawatu River, Metro Glass, Isles Construction (at Cornerstone School) and Colspec Construction (Massey Aviation School). A great day was had by all.
