Dear Parents/Caregivers

This is a reminder that our annual whole-school swimming sports day will be held Thursday, February 8th . We invite you to attend for part or all of the day.

Lido Aquatic Centre, Park Road, Palmerston North.

Key Times

8:40 Assemble outside the gates of the Lido Pool
Morning roll marking and entry to pool

9:00 Races begin

11.00 Diving events

12.00 Races continue

1:30 House relays and teacher/student relay

2:45 End of day

  • Swimming togs
  • 2 towels
  • Sun hat and sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Lunch or some money if students wish to buy any snack/lunch food, which the school will be selling. Students may not buy food at the Lido Café.
  • Students need to wear something in the colour that identifies them with their house: Wesley-Red, Tyndale-Blue & Luther-Yellow/Gold

Students are expected to wear acceptable swimwear that is appropriate and modest. Swimwear that is too brief is unacceptable.

The town bus runs will start at the normal time , 8.10am , and will drop the students at the Lido. The buses will pick them up again from the pool at 2.45pm and take them home. Country buses will deliver students to college, and the college bus will take them to and from the Lido.

If we have to postpone the event , the buses will bring the students straight out to college (the students may still wear their mufti clothes to classes). If there is any doubt about the weather, they should bring their school books as well as their swimming gear. Any students who have been dropped at the pool in the morning by parents will be picked up by the college bus and brought to school, and a staff member will be there to supervise them while they wait. After school, the town buses will take the students home at the usual time, 2.00pm.

Please note that students will not be permitted to leave the 50m pool grounds during the day nor go inside the Lido complex for any reason other than getting changed.
