LAC House FYI

25 March 2020

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

INTERNATIONAL BOARDERS’ UPDATE - Covid 19

The New Zealand government has moved to Alert Level 4 with regards Covid 19. This comes into effect later today and continues for a minimum of 4 weeks. For more details go to https://covid19.govt.nz/  These measures are to avoid community transmission and decrease the spread of Covid-19.

Presently LAC House is in isolation as based on advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE). Fortunately, we have been preparing for this possibility. This allowed for a relatively quick response in the last two days.

Some of the things we have already done;

  Personal hygiene - Hand washing
  Hand Sanitizer Stations
  Physical Distancing
  School Closure
  No Town Trips/Excursions

Rest assured our first concern is your child's health. The next four weeks will have its challenges but I am really proud of the deans and students who have already banded together to make the most of this time. The school holidays fall within these four weeks as does the first weeks of term 2. The day school will be providing learning opportunities online in term 2.

Some of the things we, students and staff, are currently planning;

  Regular activities
  Movie Nights
  Projects

We are grateful to the School Principal and Deputy Principal and teaching staff living on-site, for volunteering personal time during the lockdown to assist with supervision and team building activities.

Please email jeffersons@lac.school.nz (boys) or mariah@lac.school.nz (girls) anytime.
