University of Canterbury Essay Competition

In Term 3, a number of Year 9 and 10 students went beyond classroom expectations by taking the opportunity to enter the University of Canterbury School of Law Essay Competition on the proposed Legalisation of Cannabis.

The students used some of their own time to develop and refine their ideas before submitting their essays at the end of the Term 3 break. In reviewing the essays, all were of a high level and one, in particular, was awarded 2nd in all of NZ for Year 9 and 10. Congratulations to Angelina Cariga for this result, which gained her $150.
