LAC House Governance
LAC House, the boarding facility at Longburn Adventist College, operates under the governance of the Longburn Adventist College Board of Governors. The College itself is owned by the New Zealand Pacific Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (headquartered in Howick, Auckland), who are responsible for the provision and maintenance of school property.
The Board of Governors oversees LAC House through the NZ SDA Schools Association and is responsible for:
- Ensuring good governance and strategic planning for the College
- Appointing key staff and supporting their work
- Hearing serious student discipline cases
- Liaising with the Ministry of Education regarding which buildings and land are classified as “integrated”
LAC House meets the New Zealand Ministry of Education (Hostels) Regulations Act 2005 and is a signatory to International Students Pastoral Care standards, ensuring high-quality care for all boarders.
The day-to-day management of LAC House is carried out by the Principal and the management team, with the School Board providing oversight and guidance to ensure the College continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in line with its Christian values.
