Parent Involvement

Partnering in Your Child's Journey

At Longburn Adventist College, we believe that education is a collaborative journey shared between the school, the student, and the family. Research and experience consistently show that when parents are actively engaged in school life, students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We warmly welcome and encourage parents, caregivers, and whānau to bring their unique skills, time, and energy into our school community.

There are many ways to stay connected and support the college, ranging from attending school events and sports fixtures to volunteering in various capacities. Your presence and involvement enrich our campus culture and strengthen the network of support surrounding our young people.

Drive Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)

We are highly supportive of establishing a vibrant Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at LAC, and we want our parent community to take the driver's seat.

We believe the most successful PTA is one that is envisioned, led, and shaped by parents themselves. Rather than a school-dictated committee, we want this space to be a genuine reflection of your ideas, your community goals, and your vision for supporting our students.

As a parent-driven PTA, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Foster Community: Create fun, inclusive events that bring LAC families together.
  • Organize Initiatives: Drive fundraising efforts or projects that directly enhance school resources and student experiences.
  • Provide a Voice: Serve as a collaborative bridge between the parent body and the school leadership team.

The college is fully committed to providing the necessary meeting spaces, administrative backing, and communication channels to help get this initiative off the ground. We just need your passion and leadership to spearhead it.

How to Get Involved

Whether you are interested in leading the formation of the PTA, helping out with sports coaching, assisting with field trips, or contributing to school events, we want to hear from you.

If you would like to step forward, share an idea, or express interest in joining a parent-led committee, please contact us. Together, we can continue to build a strong, connected, and supportive environment for all our students.
