Boarders’ fees require an up-front $1,000 deposit. The remainder may be paid up-front per term or by regular instalments.

Scholarships
Making boarding at LAC accessible for every family. See below for the various scholarship options available to boarding students.
LAC Domestic Scholarship
The LAC Boarding Scholarship supports students from financially challenged backgrounds who demonstrate strong character and commitment to their education. While primarily aimed at Seventh-day Adventist students, all domestic fee-paying students who meet the criteria are welcome to apply.
Scholarship Details:
- Amount: Up to NZ$3,000 (towards boarding fees only)
- Eligibility: Domestic fee-paying students, including residents of Australia, the Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau
- Status: Applications are now open

Ministry of Education Boarding Allowances
The Ministry of Education provides boarding allowances for students who need additional support to attend suitable schools. Parents and caregivers can find full details, eligibility criteria, and application processes on the Ministry’s website.
Key Dates:
- Applications for the following school year are due 31 October
- Decisions are issued in early December
- Late applications may be considered at the Ministry’s discretion
Māori Education Trust Scholarships
A range of secondary scholarships are available. Multiple scholarships can be applied for, however, only one will be awarded per person.
- Available to students in Years 9 – 13
- Applications close 31 March
Rural Women New Zealand Bursaries
This fund assists a Year 9 or 10 student living away from home in a boarding situation with financial assistance.
Scholarship Details:
- Year 9 or 10, NZ citizen
- Applications open 19 August 2026 to 30 September 2026.
- The duration of this bursary is one year, with $900 available each year, up to a maximum of 4 years.
